Verus Engineering V1X Swan Neck Rear Wing - C8 Corvette
Verus Engineering V1X Swan Neck Rear Wing - C8 Corvette
The Verus Engineering V1X Swan Neck Rear Wing is a serious aerodynamic upgrade developed for C8 Corvette owners looking for substantially increased rear downforce and improved high-speed stability. Using CFD analysis, wind-tunnel testing, and real-world validation, the V1X combines a large high-efficiency carbon fiber wing element with a swan-neck mounting system designed to maximize the low-pressure region underneath the airfoil.

High-Downforce V1X Airfoil
The V1X is designed for significantly greater aerodynamic capacity than Verus' smaller UCW wing. According to Verus, the V1X at only 2 degrees angle of attack produces more downforce than the UCW at 12 degrees, while also producing less drag.
The larger V1X profile allows the wing to balance substantial front aerodynamic modifications, making it particularly well suited for track-focused C8 builds equipped with an aggressive front splitter and other functional aero components.
Swan Neck Aerodynamic Design
The top-mounted swan-neck uprights leave more of the airfoil's lower surface unobstructed. This allows the wing to better utilize the clean, low-pressure region underneath the element, improving overall downforce generation while minimizing the drag penalty associated with producing additional rear grip.
CFD & Wind-Tunnel Developed
Verus developed the V1X using advanced aerodynamic analysis, including the ANSYS Adjoint Solver, Computational Fluid Dynamics, and wind-tunnel testing. CFD was also used to verify that the wing receives adequate airflow when installed on the C8 rather than evaluating the airfoil only in isolation.
Verus states that its CFD predictions correlated closely with real-world experimental testing, helping validate the aerodynamic performance of the finished wing.
Adjustable Track Performance
The V1X provides 15 degrees of adjustment, allowing the wing angle to be fine-tuned based on the vehicle's aerodynamic configuration and intended use. This gives track-focused owners the ability to adjust rear aero balance when pairing the wing with different front splitter and aero setups.
Premium Carbon Fiber Construction
The rear wing element is manufactured from 2x2 twill pre-preg carbon fiber, autoclave cured, and finished in an automotive-grade high-gloss clear coat.
The mounting system utilizes 6061-T6 aluminum components machined in-house on 5-axis CNC equipment, along with stainless steel hardware for a high-strength, precision-fit installation.
What's Included
The complete kit includes the rear wing assembly, two machined aluminum swan-neck uprights, two machined aluminum rear wing engine-cover mounts, two machined aluminum bottom supports, two vented carbon fiber endplates, a Gurney flap, and the necessary installation hardware.
